Game Rules

1. Matches may be played at any course agreed to by both players. Each player pays for their own green fees. Discounted tee times can be booked at Last Minute Green.
2. You compete using the Match Play Format. You compete to win individual holes, and the player who wins the most holes wins the match. Win a hole, that's one for you; lose a hole, that's one for your opponent. Ties essentially don't count and they aren't kept track of in the scorekeeping.
3. You allocate strokes based on handicaps ONLY for the Intermediate, Advanced and Pro divisions. Therefore, beginners play straight up and do not need to worry about allocating strokes.
Say Jack and Sally are going head-to-head in Match Playf. Jack has a course handicap of 15 and Sally has a course handicap of 11.

The Wrong Way
Contrary to the practice of many golfers, Jack does NOT receive strokes on the 15 highest-ranked handicap holes while Sally receives strokes on 11.

The Correct Way
The correct way to allocate storkes in one-on-one Match Play is to subtract the lower handicap from the higher, then assign the difference to the weaker player. In our our example, Sally's 11 is subtracted from Jack's 15, leaving 4. Jack now receives strokes on the top 4 handicap holes, while Sally plays from scratch.

4. The winner is responsible for posting the result of the match. Simply enter the number of holes won by each player.
5. Players have the option to take a forfeit from their opponent when their opponent:

Doesn't show up for a scheduled match
Shows up more than 15 minutes late
Doesn't give 24 hours of notice for match cancellation
Doesn't complete the match
Doesn't make contact within a week to reschedule a canceled match

How to make a Challenge

1. You may challenge anyone in your division.
2. Your opponent will receive an email when challenged.
3. The challenged player must accept or reject the challenge from their My Ladder within 1 week or drop in rank.
4. If the challenge is accepted, players should schedule a time to play via email or phone.
How to move up the Rankings

1. You're placed at the bottom of the Rankings when you join.
2. You may challenge anyone on the Rankings.
3. You move up a maximum of three positions if you win your challenge.
4. If you are challenged and lose, you move down one spot.
5. No ranking change occurs if a challenge was unsuccessful.

The Four Week Rule
You can move up the Rankings simply by playing games. At the end of every four-week period, if you have played a game, you are moved up the Rankings until you bump into another player who has played a game. Then the player you bumped into is moved up the Rankings until they bump into another player that has played a game within the four-week period. The same process is used for players who don't play games except they are bumped down the Rankings. You can move up the Rankings quickly simply by playing games regardless of whether you win or lose. Remember to enter your results timely because the system only knows you played if you report it.

Holiday Status
You may turn your Holiday Status on for a total of 45 days per year. When your Holiday Status is on, opponents can't contact you for games and you will not lose your spot in the Rankings.

Key to Success

1. Accept or reject ALL match requests from your My Ladder
2. Play regularly or put your account on Holiday Status.
3. Show up for all scheduled games.
4. When in doubt, the higher ranking player makes the decision.
